Three CCS
swimmers are participating in the 2009 Short course Speedo Junior
National meet in Columbus, Ohio at the Ohio State
University this week and weekend. These three swimmers
are: Addison Cates,
Kelsey Frantz, and Daniel Hughes .
The swimmers will be participating in
their qualified events as well as time trials. This meet will
have 1,320 swimmers who are 18 yrs. old and younger.
When swimmers participate at this level, they have achieved a level
of swimming outside just local and state
competitions.
The first day of competition started on
Thursday, December 10. All three swimmers participated and
swam well for the first day. Kelsey swam a CCS personal best
in the 500 and finished 55th out of 140 swimmers. She also
swam one of her best swims in the 50 free. Addison Cates swam
one of his best swims in the 500 free and then set a team record in
the 50 free with a personal best swim during a time trial
swim. Daniel Hughes competed in the 500 free and swam a good
race against very tough competition.
The Second day of competition, Friday,
December 11, saw Kelsey swim a CCS personal best in the 200
free. Addison swam a time trial 100 free which had him swim a
very good time and Daniel Hughes swam a 200 free time trial
swimming a CCS personal best.
Kelsey competed in the 100 free today and
went a life time personal best swim. More swims to come this
afternoon when the three swimmers swim the mile.
